Terms of Service

These terms are a simple contract between you and thetensor.site: you get a free website and a free fine-tuning tool, we get a couple of reasonable promises in return. We wrote them to be readable — if anything is unclear, ask before you agree.

1. What this covers

These terms apply to the website at thetensor.site, including the account system, downloads, blog, lessons and report forms. The TheTensorTune software itself is distributed under the Apache-2.0 license (see section 5), which is the authoritative license for the code.

2. Accounts

• Downloading the software requires a free account. Keep your password private — you are responsible for what happens through your account.
• Give us an email address you actually control; you will need it to receive verification codes and password resets.
• One person, one account, no bots. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service (see section 4).
• You can ask us to delete your account at any time through the About page or the report button.

3. The service

We provide the site and the downloads as a free service, on a best-effort basis. We may add, change or remove features, and occasionally take the site down for maintenance. We aim to announce meaningful changes on the changelog page.

4. Acceptable use

• Do not attack the site: no attempts to break authentication, no scraping at abusive rates, no flooding the forms or the download endpoint.
• Do not use the site or software for anything illegal in your jurisdiction.
• Do not impersonate us or claim our work as your own.
• Rate limits and abuse protection are in place; if you legitimately need more (e.g. mirrors for a community), just ask — we usually say yes.

5. The software license

TheTensorTune is open-source software licensed under Apache License 2.0. In short: use it commercially or privately, modify it, share it — but keep the LICENSE and notice file with your copies, and state what you changed. The website content (text, screenshots, the course) is © TheTensor; quote it with a link back, and it is fine.

6. No warranty

The site and the software are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, safety in critical systems, or that training runs will converge. Fine-tuning large language models consumes real electricity, disk space and time; that cost is yours. You are responsible for what you train and for the outputs you generate with it.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TheTensor is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages, lost data, lost profits or failed experiments arising from the use of, or inability to use, the site or the software. Since everything here is free, our total aggregate liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us — which is zero.

8. Reports and user content

Messages and reports you send us remain yours; by sending one you grant us the right to store it, read it and act on it (for example, quoting part of a bug report in a fix note). Do not send us confidential information — a bug report is not an NDA channel.

9. Termination

We may block access that violates these terms, and we may stop operating the site someday (open-source projects have lifespans). If we ever shut the service down, we will say so plainly and keep the software downloads available in some form for a reasonable wind-down period.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the “last updated” date above changes when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. Questions, disagreements, or found a bug in these very terms? The report button is right there — we answer.
